Yes my school is a reading first school. The reading first pgrogram affects teachers in grades K-3. The teachers have to do so many Prof. dev hours and ongoing traing throughout the school year. In grades 4-5 the teachers are not affected by it at all. Since we have had the OCR program which has been about 3 or 4 years we have had it. It is working well in that the students in the primary grades get more resources and teachers get more PD's that are paid for with the reading first monies.
