Well Aswin, I will say INDIA bcoz,

Indian team is an international cricket team which represents INDIA governed by BCCI.It started in ENGLAND as a test cricket before many years. In the starting INDIA played well. But in the middle, they struggled a lot by giving the reasons that bowling is not good, pitch is not good, batting is not good....Now-a-days,INDIA is doing well in home as well as outside. Our top batting order is very strong.Current status of Indian cricket is very good. Now the dependency of the team on Sachin has reduced. Every player is equally participating in the victory of the team from top order to a middle order to number 11 player. Now we are winning many matches by building good partnership. Before,we lacked consistency much.If one player falls, all falls immediately. But now we have developed that.We are also able to be consistent.Bowlers are also doing great. Our current status is shown by the cricket ratings.Still we can develop a lot if we does not bring cricket as a politics(which goes on the underneath of the selection procedure.).Coach Greg Chappel has played a vital role in changing the face of Indian cricket team. They work hard to bring their talents out.. Our indian team does its best in every test and moreover they are managed by good team captain and the coach.Captainship under rahul dravid is simply awesome as it can b seen frm de way de team had performed all these days!!greg chappel is shaping a perfect combination in indian cricket team with mix of youth and experience.Although the team needs to improve on some fronts chappel is sure to raise the team to heights that were unknown to many indian fans. The present bunch has everything to make a world cup winner!!!

Since cricket is a game of uncertainties, nothig can be predicted for sure about the outcome of any tournament in advance.

As far as the world cup 2007 is concerned it is all the more difficult to give any prediction as the tournament is couple of months away and no one knows at this stage what will be the form of the players at that time. Further, it is also not know which players will be representing each countries.

Hence the safe prediction one can make at this stage is all the top 8 teams stand a chance to win the workld cup depending upon their performance at that time..

Australians seem 2 be the favourites after the ICC trophy victory but India stand a fair chance if Sourav Ganguly returns as a captain.

Scotland, if the final is between them and India, because we have a noble habit to slip on the last step. Otherwise also scotland is a great team, but being a bit serious i would place my bets as:
Semifinals: Pakistan vs South Africa
India vs Australia
Final: South Africa vs Australia
And the winner is........................ South Africa.

By current standards, it has to be Australia. South Africa might turn out to be their biggest challenger though.
