The word is Jehovah in Hebrew.
I don't know where that word came from either, but then again I don't know where the ideas of a lot of so-called Christians come from either.

The equivalent of the word 'God' existed long before the Hebrew language. Even to you it must be quite evident that a similar word exists with the same meaning, in many languages.

God is still not used in the Hebrew language.

The Hebrew word is "El", or "Elohim". For God's origin read here: http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?search=god&searchmode=none
