Well, lots of things are symbolic of sex. Water is often considered a life-source in a more intimate way than many other things, though. Sex is responsible for creating new life, life (we think) came from the sea, and hey! We all kind of swim around inside our mothers, anyway. :P That, and sex is wet.

Water is only an element in the metaphysical sense of the word. Literally, it is a combination of three atoms: two hydrogen, one oxygen.

Well, primarily, water is symbolic of emotions the way that air is symbolic of thought, and earth is symbolic of conditions, and fire is symbolic of action. So to me, water is symbolic of feelings about sex, air is symbolic of thoughts about sex, earth is symbolic of the sensuality of sex, and fire is symbolic of the act of sex!
