I'm in the central NJ area if that matters as far as reception. But overall, reception, price, quality, customer service.....who should I go with for the best overall value?

I also live around central nj- -pretty much all the big name cell carriers will work (cept Nextel cuz they suck) pretty much anywhere. You need too decide if price matters alot or content. Cingular and Verizon are more expensive but they have much better phones and theyre reception is a tad bit better. But Tmobile (which ive had for 4 years and love it) is the cheapest and though it doesn't have video etc it isnt bad. Sprint also isnt too bad and they have decent phones, but from what I'm told theyre customer service SUCKS.

For reception, I'd ask people which brand they have is coming in the clearest. Every area differs with this; I had Cingular and always had a lot of dropped calls, switched to Verizon, and it comes in ( where I am, Florida ) very clear and no dropped calls.
Customer service, aghghghhhh,,,, they all seem to talk so fast and act in a hurry here, but if I can catch a Verizon Rep alone they slow down a bit.; or sometimes I call the Verizon store to ask a question and they are less distracted.
It's a toss of the dice there I think.
The prices are going to vary by how many minutes and extras you throw in, and the only answer is comparison shop ( you'll find out about customer service that way too! ).

I have alltel, the service depends on your area of course, but they're "my circle" plan is great. I used over 3000 mobile to mobile and my circle minutes last month. Mobile to mobile is calling any other alltel phone, and you get to pick any ten numbers from any network for your my circle and all calls to those are free.

depends on where you are. Cingular will let you try it for 30 days without having a contract.
