What are the odds of Calgary beating the Ducks? My buddy was talking trash, so i had to put money down on my team (the Flames), so i have 20 bucks that the Flames are going to win.

You're in trouble. I don't think the Flames can beat the Ducks. The Ducks are on a roll.

As much as I hate the Flames, I like their chances versus the Ducks. Ducks might start to wear out on the road and as rolls go, they must some to end sometime. Same thing with slumps, and the Flames should break out of theirs soon.

The only major changes from last season with the Flames is the loss of Sutter behind the bench and the addition of Tanguay. They had the same start last year and turned it around this time last season. A good team just doesn't disappear.

UPDATE:

Congrats on winning $20!

I think the Flames are the Ducks nightmare opponent. The Flames will make the ducks pay every time they carry the puck and dish next time in. I like that bet. look for Kippper to step up also.

if the flames come to play play the man, instead of trying to dipsy-doodle the puck, they can take the ducks. maybe 2-1, or 2-0
it'll be a bit of a grudge match for the flames after the playoff loss last year.
if calgary tryes to outskate anaheim, they'll lose badly, like 3-5, or 3-6.

I think you've lost 20 bucks. Calgary has a really good team, but lately they haven't been playing well. Meanwhile Anaheim is at the top of the league with no losses in regulation. They've got the best two D-men in the league, Pronger and Niedermayer.

Well... as you probably know by-now Anaheim destroyed Vancouver 6-0..... and it sounds like your buddy suckered you into the bet.
If you're going to gamble, don't let your emotion control your habit. If you do you're going to find yourself in serious trouble one day.
You bet against (maybe) the best team in the league. Don't get me wrong - I'm not an Anaheim fan but any true hockey fan that watches this team cannot help but be impressed. - What's more is that their ego is in check, they're not pre-maturely celebrating anything, their sites are set down the road... and, aside from Dallas, they have the most solid team in the NHL.
I'm a Flyers fan - would I bet on them? Never
I'm NOT a Ducks fan - would I bet on them? Bet your as-s!

OK - I just realized that I miss-read the question and you're talking about tonight's game against Calg.... but.... it sill applies.

I think the Ducks should prevail. You know what? Wait until the 3rd quarter of the season and then pick the Flames. They aren't clicking on all cylinders right now and the Ducks are. ;)
