Less than two hours out of Snohomish, the Christmas lighting festival in Leavenworth, Washington is the perfect place and time for a beautiful outdoor walk in the snow!
Dress warm and don't forget your camera!

now...you all just QUIT---- making me homesick! Waterfall...? oh yes..."Wallace Falls"..near Skykomish Washington....if Sultan is out of flood stage then...because you have to drive up Highway 2 and go through Sultan (which is ON Highway 2). Wallace Falls is a nice roped off hike and you can take your dog (on a leash) (they even provide drinking fountains for the bow-wows)...DON'T FORGET your CAMERA.
The "Levy" (leeve?)...off the marina, is accessibly by FREE charter boat (schedule is posted at the marina). You can walk, beachcomb (leave stuff there please). take photos, make a bon-fire. Wonderful fun.
Brunch at Anthony's Homeport is worth it! especially if you like bacon...there is the BEST flavour I've ever had.
Sunsets &/or Kite Flying at Mukilteo Beach by the lighthouse are beautiful (& the lighthouse is a nice tour). I've taken some of my BEST photos from the park by the Snohomish River at Lowell, below Everett. The Naval Air Station has some areas of great photographic basis.
For an overnight ---just keep on from Wallace Falls over Highway 2 which will take you over Stevens Pass...for the most beautiful winter scenes you've ever seen...(snow tires are a MUST) Leavenworth is on the otherside...but train service is horrible...and car travel is questionable bcz of the snow & ice on the roads. Maybe save that for an early Autumn trip next time.

There's a lot of great hikes, waterfalls & lakes. I'd grab a visitor guide when you get here (I live one county north, so I'm not sure where everything is down there). There's also a ski resort up Hwy 2, if you like to ski. Stevens Pass is the name. You could also visit the Parks Dept or Ranger Station when you get here if you'd like trail maps or info on all the great natural wonders we have around here.

How about Snoqualmie Falls? There's even a fancy restaurant right nearby, so you can combine an outdoor scenic view with a romantic dinner. Make sure to get reservations for the restaurant, and be prepared to spend some dough. The view of the falls is spectacular, and the restaurant is spendy but worth every penny!

There are so many beautiful, scenic places to see and visit in that area and surrounding areas - Waterfalls, lakes and great places to walk/hike. May be a little chilly and possibly some snow.
Google snohomiscounty.com or washingtonstate.com.
Beautiful country - have a great time! :)

There are some nice cross country ski areas where you rent skis and they have groomed trails.
