Helen Mirren as Mother Courage. First, she can do anything... and her doing the silent scream would send me over the edge!
Kattrin -- Reese Witherspoon. Her face is so expressive and I'd love to see her "roughed up" a little bit for the role.
Eilif -- Vincent Donofrio. He does so much physically, and could be believable as the brute... as well as have a certain cunning come through.

Meryl Streep played Mother Courage, and I heard she was excellent and I'm sure she was so I would pick her.
For Katthrin, I'm thinking Natalie Portman. I don't know why, but I really like her as an actress.
