If kept to a minimum, the caffeine should not be significant, but I wondered if it was otherwise safe for the nursing infant?

As many medicinal herbs are dangerous when breastfeeding, should all herbal teas be avoided while breastfeeding?

Thanks...

Green tea is fine. If a nursing woman can drink coffee, green tea seems much more gentle.

I wouldn't recommend green tea while breastfeeding. You might want to ask this question in Alternative Health on this site. They will probably be able to help you also.

I asked my ob and he said you can drink it both while preg and while breastfeeding just remember there is caffeine so don't drink a ton of it. Keep it to a min. just like soda.

absolutely. green tea has hardly any caffeine and it's not as if that small amount will pass to the baby and even if it did, i'm sure it would be good for your baby since green tea is filled w/ anti-oxidants.

Anything you drink will go to your baby. Keep your green tea intake to a minimum and you and your baby willl be fine.
