Annoying people,people who are stupid, and people who think they own everyone or think they are better than everyone else tick me off. (In other words, arrogant,conceited, and/or overly confident people)

I interpret this question to mean: why does one live? Otherwise, the answer would be overtly obvious (The heart+brain). I myself "tick" through a vision of the future. Being only seventeen, I have many experiences to still cherish and endure. But I go on, not only for the fact that these experiences wait my arrival on my timeline, but also because it would be a shame/waste if I were to quit and stop my ticking, so to speak. Life is so precious, and not about yourself. Therefore, one might say I'm ticking for the sakes of others.

What makes you tick?... Would mean what makes me wake up everyday and want to live??
My son and my husband. I never realized how committed I could become to something before they were in my life. Most of the time I was so focused on my career that I lost sight of the better things in life. Like the smile that I get from my son when I get him from his room in the morning. Or the goodnight kiss my husband gives me while I'm working at the computer late at night. These little things make my life so much more meaningful and help me get through everyday with a smile.

Human wisdom did not reach that stage to know how the first tick of your heart happened. I too think a lot on it. I think even the medical science has no answer to it precisely.
