No divorce, no break up (including with your girl/boyfriend), and so on.

Mark 10:9
"
What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
"

Matthew 19:6
"
Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
"

Of course, a piece of paper is that, just a piece of paper. Just because you're divorced in paper, that doesn't mean the same happen to your heart.

Mark 10:5
"
And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he (Moses) wrote you this precept.
"

Matthew 19:8
"
He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
"

It's not wise keep 'public property' just for the use of yourself. Do you want to use a bus just for yourself? What about the others who also want to use the bus?

Matthew 19:9
"
And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
"

ok so im reading all these answers and most are 100% true, but listen folks we all are also thinking of what is morally correct with what Jesus says!! Has anyone thought about the folks out there that haven't even accepted Christ and just run and get married because they think they are in love? The bible is very clear, lets forget about what your Mom and Dad has taught you because God knows how wrong they can be just going by what they were taught! The bottom line_____If man joined it together from his own mind then don't go thinking God had anything to do with that marriage in the first place. But if you and your spouse has BOTH accepted Christ before you were married then its NO to divorce!!! accept for adultery. the Bible says you should be evenly yoked. THAT MEANS BOTH SHOULD BE CHRISTIAN IN CHRIST JESUS. Oh and sorry to say for all the old timers that still want to go by the old testament but Jesus revised lots of things in the new testament so learn your bible!!!!! praise god and if you want to reply email me feel free. vickersroofers@gmail.com

I am not quite sure where it is but it does talk about divorce. It says divorce is a sin unless the person cheats. The person who cheats will never be able to get married again in Gods eyes. The victim can remarry and move on. I think if there is any kind of abuse that should be ok to divorce as well but not quite sure if it mentions anything about abuse.

It is against it, it's just not really in the bible to my knowledge, it will probably be worded differently. However the teachings of the church are against divorce.

Matthew Chapter 5 (words of Jesus)

31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

The only permitted reason for divorce that the bible states is adultery. There are other references to divorce in the bible as well.

Hi! God hates divorce, cause He hates a broken heart, the bible says the only grounds for a divorce is marital unfaithfulness, and He hates betrayal too, He knows how it feels, Jesus was betrayed and died a brutal death, and He did it for us, there is nothing in our lives that Jesus never went through, He went through everything for us, He took all of our sins for us, that is how much He loves us, if you want to feel love raining down in your soul, invite Him into your heart, He is so awesome....may God change your life amen

Malachi 2:15-16
15 Didn’t the Lord make you one with your wife? In body and spirit you are his. And what does he want? Godly children from your union. So guard your heart; remain loyal to the wife of your youth.16 “For I hate divorce!” says the Lord, the God of Israel. “To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty, ” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “So guard your heart; do not be unfaithful to your wife.” (NLT)

Heb 13:4
4 Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.

1 Cor 7:10-11
10 But for those who are married, I have a command that comes not from me, but from the Lord. A wife must not leave her husband.11 But if she does leave him, let her remain single or else be reconciled to him. And the husband must not leave his wife.

We should always be in prayer for our spouse and marriage bc
1 Peter 5:8
8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

God Bless!
