I have an IQ of over 150 and I've taken several different tests.

I always seem to overthink everything I do, and it causes me to hesitate and I have trouble following through with things.

The only way I have found to fit in this world is by drinking alcohol.
It dumbs me down to the point where I can enjoy life and turn off my chatter box of a brain.

Does anyone have a better way to enjoy life?

I think that your problem is that you bore too easily. you need to find a way to relate to others other than with the alchohol. You're smart enough to know that it can only hurt you in in the long run. Many geniuses tend to turn to it to cope or to relate with others but i think that there are other ways that you can acomplish this. My opinion is that you should speak with a professional. If not try to make contact with people that are on your intellectual level. Where there's a will there's a way to find a solution to your dilema. I hope I helped you at least a little. As to the overthinking of things; take intelligent chances. If you don't, your high IQ will just go to waste. The world needs you, man.

"Better way to enjoy life?" you don't sound quite so happy to me, my friend. Seriously - get help with that. If you have an IQ of 150, then you have logic and reason enough to know that using alcohol the way you're using it is not healthy for you or anyone you love or who loves you. You may also consider that getting drunk a lot is causing you to hesitate and not do things as well.

Best of luck.

I can't help but answer your interesting questions, sorry..
my answer:
The weight of the world is not in your hands, yes if you tried hard enough you could find the cure for cancer, but this is not your job. It is not your responsibility.
I know why you hesitate, because there are so many answers to our questions, when you know all the answers, and you want to make the right one, take my advice the world will go on, just because your smart doesn't mean you have to be perfect, everyone makes mistakes. go to sleep with peace, and take that load off your back.

I too have a high IQ, but I don,t find it necessary to drink to dull my senses so I can enjoy life. You need to except your intelligence and do some thing with it.

Don't sabotage yourself. And take care of yourself, intelligent people tend to also be cursed with mental problems such as depression. Never look down on anybody else for being less smart. You will only alienate yourself and push yourself into your "chatterbox brain" even furthur. Don't kill yourself with the alcohol. I have seen many a smart person waste their life and it was pathetic.

Find as much about you can about everything and try to come up with your own something (maybe invention?). I usually look up tons and tons of information about the world on my free time.

Do you hesitate out of fear? If so then I suggest you grow a spine and take a chance. Maybe you should read "Might is Right".
