Against except in life or death situations. As for rape only if the morning after pill failed as that prevents the sperm and egg from combining and therefore there was never a baby. The morning after pill does nothing if the sperm and egg already combined.

I just had to do a report on it as well haha. Personally i am against it unless it is a life or death situation. Like i read this thing where someone was 15 weeks pregnant with twins and they had some twin to twin fatal complication. Having an abortion was the only way to protect the other. If a couple or woman wants an abortion just because they don't "want" the kid, that's wrong...it was there mistake and they shouldn't kill the kid for that. I think abortion should be outlawed unless the doctor says it is the ONLY option..hope i helped

Against it. Every abortion kills an innocent human being. Every abortion is wrong. Here is proof, as well as other reasons to be against abortion:

I am pro-choice. I believe abortions should be accessable, affordable and safe. With this, I would never, ever encourage someone to get an abortion. I don't take it lightly, it is not an easy decision and it is not always an easy procedure to go through. And, contrary to what others comments elude to women choosing abortion do not make the decision easily either, no one takes abortion lightly even the most pro-choice people. And, no one wants someone to have to go through that process either. I can't begin to understand how being pregnant feels for each individual woman either and I strongly believe that only each woman can decide what is in her best interest and make the decision that is right for her whether that be parenting the child, adopting the child out or having an abortion. Being pregnant and having a child is a life changing event, and the pregnant woman must choose what is best for her. No one can know what that situation or decision will feel like until they themself are presented with an umplanned pregnancy. I find it very disrespectful and arrogant that others feel that they what is best for a stranger and her life. Women should not be forced to carry a pregnancy to term. Women should not be forced to carry a pregnancy to term and adopt out the baby. Not everyone will be emotionally and intellectually able to adopt out a child. Also, if abortion is to become illegal women will still seek abortions and they will be unsafe abortions and women will get sick and some may die. Keeping abortion safe and accessable is a public health issue. Throughout human history people have done things to control their ability to reproduce, abortion has always existed and it will continue to, it is up to us to keep it safe and accessable, that may not be easy to do but it is the sensible and decent thing to do.
Food for thought:
1. Anyone sexually active is at risk for pregnancy. Condoms break, condoms fall off, birth control is not 100% either. So, no matter how many precautions someone takes pregancy can still occur. An unplanned pregnancy is not a sign of irresponsibility.
2. When a condom breaks or falls off or when a woman is raped and she seeks emergency contraception to prevent pregnancy after intercourse and she goes to the drug store and they do not carry the medicine or the pharmacist refuses to give her the medicine because he see is as morally questionable. Thus, there are already barriers, and they are increasing, to women preventing unplanned pregnancy. And, in many areas pharmacists won't fill women's prescriptions for birth control methods such as pills because they find it immoral. All of these things limit women's ability to control their reproductive choices. If people don't want women to have abortions they should allow women to make choices that will work toward that effort. Birth control needs to be accessable, affordable and covered by insurance.
3. What about women that have disabilities (developmentally ill, mentally ill)? They are sexually active but maybe not using birth control? Are they able to raise a child?
4. When a woman's health is in danger who will decide that she needs an abortion? Will it be forced on her? Will it be withheld from her?
5. What about incest? And, a girl gets pregnant by her dad or her brother or uncle?
I am pro-choice because I believe that each woman knows what is best for her and no one else knows that but her.
I am pro-choice because I feel very strongly that every child deserves to be a wanted child. I do not want women forced to have children and those children to end up going hungry, being abused etc, etc.

I am totally against abortion~~
1. Becuase it's so imoral (sp?) and it's murder of a baby. look up aborted babies on google under images. if you look at these pictures, you will never EVER abort your baby no matter how you got preggo. (rape or otherwise) This baby inside you is a person, and will be the greatest thisng ever!! AND if you don't want it no matter waht I know people that would be more than happy to take a baby from someone that don't want it and give him/her a wonderful life full of love, becuase they cannot have any of their own. I'm Pro-choice... not on abortion, but pro choosing to either not have sex or have protected sex unless you want a child, but after conception the choice is not your to make. It's not your life your choosing to terminate or not. I'm 11 weeks preggo right now, and I tried for a year for this baby... I cannot even come close to understanding why someone would want to kill a tiny helpless baby.....

The only way I could ever see that it would/could be remotely understandable is if it were a life and death situation. I've never been there...

May God have mercy on these poor helpless babies....

Im not against it and im not for it! i think it depends on the person. Here is australia in the city i live in we have about 40,000 abortions a year. mostly the age of 15-20. im 21 and had a 3 year old son and another baby on the way with a different guy (we are in a relationship) and we are both very happy with the new baby on the way! i think its up to the individual!

Please add somewhere in your project that there are some seriuos reasons to have an abortion. I don't believe in it as a form of birth control. But you better believe that if a pregnancy were going to endanger my life, I would get one. I have a 2 yr. old son, and he deserves to have a mother. It would be irresponsible parenting to put my life in danger. I have to be here for my son period. I also have the right not to be forced to give birth to a rapist's baby. There are men sitting on death row right now, that are innocent, and do you know why they are there? Because it's better to let a few innocent men die, then to allow murdering scum to walk the streets. Unfortunately you have to take the good with the bad. All of the abortions that are done for "wrong" reasons are a small price to pay for women to have the right to own their own bodies. We do not tell men that they cannot masturbate. The only difference in that and early term abortion is that one feels good, and one doesn't. Early in a pregnancy, a fetus cannot survive outside the womb, and sperm cannot survive outside the testicals. If it cannot surive in this world, then it is not murder. If abortions were made illegal again, they would still happen. But then we'd have women dying from hemorraging and infections contracted from dark, dirty offices, kitchen tables, and coat hangers. Women fought many years, and in some ways still are fighting for their rights. Why would we want to go back a step. Then next thing you know it'd be illegal to take birth control, then illegal to deny a man sex, so on and so forth. This is my body, no matter what's inside of it, and I have the right to protect my body. Not every abortion is done because a woman was too lazy to take birth control.

I just gave birth to my 5th child. Only one of my pregnancies was planned but all of my children are loved. I am pro-choice and I thank all that is good that it is still my choice. If we give the government too much control then someday it will no longer be our choice. We will be told how many children we can have and under what conditions we can have them. The government may not use abortion as a method of controlling women; they will either force sterilization or just take the babies away at birth. I learned in a class that there is a governor wanting to pass laws that take babies away from unwed teenage mother’s simply because statistics show that babies born under these conditions are more likely to live in poverty and be abused. This governor doesn’t even consider the idea that these young mothers could be helped. He just wants to take the babies from the poor and give them to the rich.

If we allow the government to force women to carry and give birth to unwanted babies what is to stop the government from taking away babies from mothers who want their babies simply because they are poor? Where do we draw the line between what is governmental business and personal?

abortion is wrong if you don't want to have a kid don't get nocked up

there are only two exceptions in my opinion....
rape victims b/c it's obviously not their fault and you can't expect them to carry the child for 9 months if they don't want to

and in sever cases where the mother is highly likely to die if she proceeds with the delivery and even then it's a moral issue...

my own mother was told she WOULD die if she had me and the dr. told her to have an abortion...needless to say she ignored him and thankfully he was wrong...we were both lucky

at the same time my boyfriends mom tried to have an abortion with him and it didn't work ago (this was almost 20 years ago when it was just some sort of saline solution) thankfully him and i it had no effect and he was born normally. But the pshycological effect it had on him when he found out a few years ago wasn't exactly the best thing for him.

I know that nothing like that could happen in todays day and age but just imagine how you would feel if your parents had seriously considered aborting you just b/c they didn't want you.

I am Pro-Choice. However, I do not believe that abortion should be used as a form of birth control. There are far too many other forms of contraceptives out there to resort to repeated abortions. I believe that abortion should be used only for those pregnacies that result from rape or incest, or when it becomes medically necessary.
