I am a thirty year old african american woman who is ready to be married . Why have can't I find a decent man?

I don't know, and unfortunately you posted in the wrong area so you aren't likely to find the man of your dreams here.
However, there are some basic rules to relationships that cross all sexuality lines.
You have to have something to bring to the table. Look at your personality, your interests and your standards. Tweak those you can, such as learn to dance, or scuba dive or join a book club to round out your interests. That way you will be around people with your same interests and have something to start a conversation with. Look at your standards, are they the result of magical thinking? If you are 30, then a 30yr old man is going to come with baggage in most cases, perhaps you are being unrealistic and should check that out. I'm not saying lower your standards, I'm just saying make sure yours are realistic.
The other thing is your readiness to be married. Yes that should be your goal, but if that's your focus, you might be scaring off the men that after the time to develop a good relations, would want to marry you because he cannot see any other future but waking up beside you each morning and going to sleep beside you each night. That kind of love takes time and hard work.

Because there is no such thing, you would be better off looking for Santa! OH just kidding...the only way to find someone is to go out and look. Unless you want to marry the mailman, because they don't come knocking on doors.

How can you be "ready to be married" when you dont have a relationship? You are more worried about the status of a relationship than the relationship itself!

Sorry to say but if you're into dating, you're probably not going to find anyone soon. Men and women use eachother, because hardly anyone is looking for marriage. Hookups are the fad.
That's why we get arranged marriages.
