Only if you are a certified professional piercer.
The reason you shouldn't do it is because you don't have proper equipment, sterilization and you don't know how anatomy effects piercings. What you should do is save your pennies and have a professional piercer do them for you.
If you do them on your own, you increase risk for bleeding, loss of feeling and sensation, infection, rejection and overall a painful experience.

Did you hear that recent news story where the mother let her daughter get her breasts pierced for her 18th birthday? She got an infection, waited too long and went into the ER. The doctor said they would have to remove the breast so she wouldn’t die. Her mother wanted to get a second opinion and the doctor told her she didn’t have enough time for a second opinion since this was so critical she could possibly die even if the breast was removed.
So today there is an 18 year old girl without a breast because she wanted to get one of her nipples pierced. Of course they are suing the people that did the piercing but it appears impossible to prove their technique caused the infection.
First off, I don’t think you should even take the chance, but second off, if you are still determined, you should be sure and get someone that has a lot of experience doing this and understands sterile techniques. If you have a major determination to do it yourself, at lest study up on the internet about sterile techniques and how to completely sterilize instruments... it’s not as simple as sticking it in alcohol all day.

Technically it could be safe to pierce your own nipples, but why would you want to. You would first have to consider all the hygiene issues. If you did have everything sterile then you would have to get all the right equipment. After all that you would still have to shove a large needle through your own nipple. When I got mine pierced, I couldn't move during the procedure. It's not exactly going to feel good. You would have to do it at a bad angle and still try to get the piercing straight. You don't want the piecing to be off center and then have to pay someone to do it. Please let a professional do this.

have pierced nipples. how's your pain tolerance? i'm not sure you could successfully push the needle thru with enough force and accuracy to complete the job and do it well. i have a fairly high pain tolerance (have tattoos and piercing). i had never experienced the extreme sharp pain that went with the nipple piercings (OUCH!) and then i had to wait for the other one to be done (OUCH!). also, you don't really want to risk the chance that they get infected if something goes wrong. i can imagine that a nipple infection is no fun... no fun at all. please, just go to a piercing place and pay the $80 to have someone else do them.

Don't do it unless you want an infection, or to go into shock, or something worse. Let me guess, your also planning to get yourself drunk and high first.
Go to a liscensed professional, if you are underage get parental permission and make sure all of their equiptment is sterile.

Why do you want to hurt yourself? Of course it is not safe. You might get infection if the wound is not properly taken care of.

Are you kidding me? Why the hell could you do this? of course this is risky, not in basic terms that, this is unattractive. Oh, and something else which would be much greater unattractive, whilst it gets contaminated when you consider which you probably did it your self. Gross.

No, no, no, and no!
Factors to consider:
Sterile technique, risk of infection (do you really want that part of your body to get infected?), risk of bleeding, not having correct equipment (a sewing needle is not big enough), scarring, not performing the procedure correctly, etc.
