I think any time a partner is more successful than the other it takes a great deal of maturity and self confidence to not be threatened. Unfortunately I don't know how this applies to women making more money than their men, and probably you need to not ask this in the GLBT forum.

Why did you only ask African American women? Just wondering. I'm going to put my 2cents in anyway...my partner makes a little more money than me, sometimes it bugs me.She never mentions it. I guess that makes it my problem and I need to get over it.

You must have clicked on the wrong section. But I think in general all men sometimes have a problem with their woman making more money, unless they are a freeloader.

No. My husband and I sees our individual successes as joint accomplishments. My husband helped me through school and he invested the money we made wisely. He just started a business that's doing really well. Who cares if my paycheck is a little bigger than his. Pretty soon, I'm going to quit and be a stay at home mom and my hubby will be bringing home the bacon.

By the way, why does it make a difference to you if the couple is black or white or asian or whatever race?

My wife made more when we first got married and we used her benefits. Never was a problem with me. But now I am ballin out of control and now she doesn't need to work. I think it depends on the guy. I see white dudes in my neighborhood who are stay at home dads. They seem to be kewl with it. Not sure why a brother would be any different unless you or someone in his family was downing him over it.

I'm sure some proud men (no matter what their race is ) still feel "threatened" when the woman makes more than they do. and that usually creates problems.
but, why do you ask this in the LGBT forum?
