d = vt + 1/2 at^2
1/2 at^2 = d - vt
at^2 = 2d-2vt
a= (2d - 2vt) / t^2

d = vt + 1/2at(2)

The 1/2 and 2 divide out-- leaving
d = vt + at

To solve for a divide by t--
d - vt = at
a = (d-vt) / t

subtracting vt
d-vt=vt+1/2a(t)^-vt
d-vt=1/2at^2
multiplying by 2
2(d-vt)=at^2
dividing by t^2
2(d-vt)/t^2=a
