You need to go and rent a move made by Deepak Chopra, "How to Know God." It talks exactly about what you've just described. The universe is not 'out there' it is inside us. Our senses give signals to our brains about what to perceive. Each of us perceives differently. Yes, which is real? Our dreams and imaginations? Maybe both is real? How much of our destiny do we create each second with our thoughts? Can we change life? do we have power in belief?
We may not exist in this world in the way you have believed or known. But I do challenge you to continue thinking about it. This is why you are here, after all. That question is your question, you're the answerer. It's 'inside', it's all inside your mind, your soul....

We exist in this world, whether this world is real or not. See, in the worlds that are my dreams, I exist and the people in it exist in that world, but the world itself is not real, except to me.
I'm pretty sure this world exists though. And if it doesn't, we'll never know the difference.

Why do people look both ways when we cross the street? It is because the world is real. If people were only imagining, then why wouldn't they just imagine that there's no car?

grief ,horrification , worry ,doubt , happyness,these thing tell us we exist ,because we live a world that we pay our attention.you focus on everything aroud you,all those you focus give the feeling, and you cant take off the feeling , because you are exist in this world.

yes i do because this morning i eat my b-fast and then before noon i get hungry, etc. etc., i also accomplishe a lot of things in my office and solved a lot of my problems and other people problems and i did make a lot of people happy today, i see a lot of them smiling.
