It may not be illegal, but it would be stupid. Your family would most likely call out the police to find you, and they'd be wasting money and man-hours to do so, which you'd most likely be liable for. Please tell me you've at least met this guy and know him well enough to be making this decision...

There is not one US state that allows someone under the age of 18 to obtain a marriage license without parental consent. Running away doesn't make any difference. They just will not issue the license.
If you are an emancipated teen it may be different but Tennessee has no emancipation statute so that's not an option for you.

Tennessee does not seem to have a clear emancipation law. You can also check with your county, but in general, you must be 18 to get married without parental consent. You can get married at 16 in Tenn with parental consent. In some counties/states you can get married at 16 without parental consent if you are pregnant.
I advise highly against running away to get married. Mostly because he lives in another state. If you run away and cross state lines, you, but mostly your boyfriend will get in huge legal trouble. He can be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor (statutory rape, etc), and if you cross state lines to be with him, that automatically makes it a federal criminal offense for him, especially if he is 18 or older. He will end up in jail, and His life will be over.
Even if he lived in your state, he could still get in trouble, but if you all cross state lines it becomes federal.

sophieb is nice. In u.s. contained in the previous due 19th and early twentieth centuries, they used to fasten people up--women people distinctly--for virtually any reason in any respect. Feeding the birds. playing the piano too regularly. exhibiting an activity in different women people rather of in adult men. yet each and every man or woman is gloomy for all varieties of motives--no longer basically to dodge the clutches of the psychiatric gangsters. satirically, those days when you're too unhappy, then the psychiatric gangsters are once you for that. They insist that that's "melancholy," and that's good to be "treated." Be extremely skeptical of a few thing that comes out of the mouth of a psychiatrist. And be as unhappy as you favor to. the international is usually a sad position.
