Why is the snow white?

Snow is made of multi-facetted ice cristals. Incoming light gets reflected inside, and exits essentially without color alteration, radiating in all directions (because of the many faces). Since the outcoming light is the same as the one that got in, that seems white to an observer.

Snow is just a whole bunch of tiny ice crystals. They have facets, cleavage... and they are highly reflective. They reflect (more or less) all the colors... and "all the colors" = white.
