Your question is a proof that neither hope nor efforts will ever be lost. The question troubling a young mind is an indication for that.
World will never be free from dishonest people and there never will be dearth of honest people. Most of the people in this world are honest and few are dishonest. Look around you and you will find many people rich and poor who refuse to be corrupt. Be it your servant or your master. You will also find corrupt people around you and in high denisty in
Police, Judiciary, Land-revenue department etc. Dishonest people know where their dishonesty will bring dividends so they flock to such places.
The only way to reduce it is to make system more transparent. Railways is an example. With more transparency in booking system the corruption has come down.
Younger minds like you should try to bring more transparency in whatever system you are working in. Be it a school, a college, at home. When you get to organizations, try to bring in transparency in every aspect of the organization.

Appollon-- In the USA we have had peaceful revolution, there was the industrial revolution, then the labor movement, which became violent when the anarchist got involved but there was no large numbers killed. then of course the civil rights movement, and women's suffrage. It is a constant battle in a free society, changes need to be made as the country changes. The young need to be informed and ever watchful. Right now with preacher Haggert out and out of the Whitehouse, can be seen as good. If the president want contact with "The Faiths" then invite them all, a priest, rabbi, Baptist minister and an Islamic cleric, to discuss problems and Mr President can go to his church for worship. That Haggert business advising and visiting is something I hope all future presidents avoid.

The first step is to prove there is corruption. Not just individual instances, but wholesale conspiracy by The Government for control and supression of The People.
If it is found, then the younger generation's role is to question it, the why of it. If it is found wanting, their role is to remove it and put another system in place -- and hope like hell the new system is better.
Note: Revolution is rarely clean and generally involves large-scale loss of life.

Fight to initiate common sense laws on Capital Hill.
For instance, make it a law to oust any politician convicted of a serious ethics violation or other crime.
Put a cap or eliminate influence peddling by special interest lobbyists.
Get the politicians off the retirement gravy train and onto the Social Security system like the rest of us.
Make it illegal for a politician to become a lobbyist for a minimum of five years after he is out of office.
In other words, inject some good, honest work ethics in these clowns - or throw 'em out.

How can the younger generation clean up corruption in Government when they are raised to think that greed, lying and avarice are the only ways to get ahead in this country. And in any other country for that matter.

It's going to take a few generations probably. But seriously, step one is telling your kids that they have to educate themselves and make up their own minds instead of just voting how their parents vote. This is a huge problem. There are so many uneducated voters who base their decisions solely on what their parents did, what they've always done, and what they hear from all kinds of disreputable sources.
Clear thinking and common sense decision making in the voting process will get more reasonable people in positions of power, and also revive the political watchdog that is supposed to exist in the American voters.
So, in summary, make up your own mind and educate yourself.

I am of the firm view that unless a strong movement takes place, on the lines of Total Revolution, suggested by Jeyaprakash Narayan, it is very difficult to clear the Aegean Stables, that the Indian polity has turned out to be.

The youth must stir public awareness of the corruption by conducting seminars and information campaign through posters, leaflets, billboards and media TV or newspapers. Ask help from non government organisations (NGOs) and MNCs . When people see the dedication of the youth, everyone will chip in his or her share.,, ask for free airtime from TV stations...try and try until you find one that will give you that free air time and then , by eventually running for office ,when the right time comes.
