I have some Freemason certificates dated 1888 AD and 5887 AL both on the same sheet. Any idea what it stands for, what kind of dating system it is??

Interesting question. A quick google search reveals thet it is "Anno Lucis" - in the year of light, and that it is calculated from the beginning of everything in 4004 BCE, as calculated by bishop Ussher

Anno Lucis (or year of light) is the Masonic calendar system, which counts years from 4004 B.C.
