I'm thirteen, a girl, and I totally don't understand why people wear makeup and get their ears pierced and such. I would totally rather be covered in dirt than stuff that's supposed to make me look pretty. The dirt says 'I went outside and had some fun, maybe it was even raining', the makeup kinda says 'you can't see me, I can't stand the way I look so I'm going to change it'. I just don't get why anyone would do something that sends that message. Furthermore, think how much time it takes to 'make your face', you could be getting some exercise so you don't look like a noodle covered with cosmetics. Could somebody please explain to me what the point of makeup is?

1. You're awesome.

2. I was the exact same at 13.

3. Then I turned 18 and felt the pressure at university. Wore makeup, eventually realised how crap I felt without it on. Or just unconfident, which is insanely unlike me.

4. You're absolutely right. Bless your heart. I hope to god you don't change cause the pressure to wear the stuff gets more intense as you get older.

5. I'm 21 now and am one of the few girls at my college that wear absolutely no makeup. I feel like me, thats what I like it as.

Makeup is an enhancing thing so I wear mascara and lipgloss every once in awhile but mostly, ladies don't realise what a TREMENDOUS difference our society would be w/o the stuff.

Less false beauty and "making up" for who you are and more natural beauty and everyone being happy in their own skin.

Finally!! A young girl with some sense!!

Keep thinking that way!
Makeup is nice, and sometimes girls wanna look nice. Other times, no makeup is best.
There are girls/ladies out there who think that they look better with makeup. They base their opinions on what everyone else thinks about them. In their minds (perhaps) its a hunt for a significant other, or even vanity. In reality, most of the time a guy will tell you that makeup doesn't matter. My husband tells me all the time that i'm pretty without it.

Kudos to you for not wanting to appear outlandish lol!
You are obviously very comfortable with yourself, not to mention happy and not worried about other people's opinions. How awesome!

you know what? you go girl! There is no rule that says you have to look like something nature didn't give you unless you are ready to do it right. There are some truly beautiful women that used to be "tomboys" or even an ugly duckling in some cases that have no need for makeup. The longer you hold on to reality and your grounding in life the healthier you usually are. You will meet your goals if you are happy with yourself!

You are a very good girl. You are not a dyke. I'm 22 yrs old the only time that I wear makeup is halloween. Seriously I still go out with my little 5yr old cousins and play get in the mud and dance in puddles with them. I still don't have my ear peirced don't want them either not worth the hassle of having to clean them everynight and worry if it's going to get infected. You are not dumb for wanting to get dirty and as far as boys liking you I have the most wonderful boyfriend who actually loves me because I don't wear makeup. I'm not fake to myself. I'm true to nature. You are quite the cool girl. Congratulations.

wait until you start seeing boys in a different way. right now you see them as playmates. When you get to the point where you will want them to notice you, you may end up experimenting with makeup

make-up enhances the natural beauty you have, or if you don't have any at all. You say these things because your young or maybe you've tried to put on make-up but thought it looked dumb on you so now you degrade it. It's cool to each is own, but i use two things or make-up mascara and golden bronze glitter and i don't think it's hiding me as you said it does.

All in what you're comfortable with... au natural is a good thing. But don't be too quick to judge. Same as you don't want to be judged without it, can't judge those who like to wear it.
