Sombody On another msg board says He has a Factory '83 Monte Carlo convertable. I dont believe it!!!

Your friend MAY have an '83 Chevy Monte Carlo convertible but Chevy didn't make it. I have seen convertible Montes but all done either by a body shop or the guy that owned it. IMHO the Monte doesn't make a very good looking convertible anyway.

I did a quick replacement part search and there were lots of convertable tops,motors, and parts - none for the 4th gen monte carlos.

i own a repair shop,and no they never made one that i know of ,and i been around since Monte Carlo first came out,and i have never seen one ,i think he,s pulling a good one on you,if they did make one hes probably got the only one ,and it only exist in his mind,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

No, but a company called Hess & Esienhardt in Ohio made
some for parade cars. Very high dollar and extremely rare !

I read once that there were a few made like in '70,'71, or' 72. Seems like there were 5 made and all went to Chevy top executives.
