NEVER wear white shoes until Memorial Day...."winter white" clothing is okay....think "butter white/white" cords, velveteen, velvet, wool ....heavy fabrics you'd never wear between Memorial Day-Labor Day. It' s not an old wives's tale or superstitious (sp)...it shows knowledge of classical dress......

Springtime is when the fashion "rules" say white fashion is acceptable. But, as long as the white garment you want to wear is made of winter material, you should be allright. For example, if you want to wear a beautiful white cashmere sweater in January, no one will care.

Memorial Day. But those rules are kind of out-dated, and designers have been making white winter fashions for years now.

Don't worry, just wear whatever you feel good in.

You aren't suppose to wear white until Easter, but thought that only applied to shoes. It is an old wives tale.

TLC's What Not to Wear says that rule is not longer valid... Wear white jackets, white shirts, white hair.... all year long. I love it!

After Memorial Day. I think it is a matter of respect, or something.
