Insomnia is very common, and there are numerous causes and cures. Check with your doctor. Meantime, eliminate caffeine after 6:00 p.m. Take a warm bath or shower before bedtime. Drink a glass of milk. Spray lavendar water on your pillowcase. Make sure the bedroom is dark and quiet, and don't do anything really strenuous, such as exercises before bedtime. (Sex is OK though) Read a boring book until your eyes start to close. Hope some of these hints will help. Good luck!

sometimes we're not aware that we have a problem... maybe for now it's not yet a problem, just something bothering you. but then because of our own perception of ourselves, we tend to push such thought out or at least to the side. it is a non-issue, for all intents and purposes, but deep down, it is...
one way to uncover it is to talk to someone you trust, and can rely on. it's not necessarily a taboo topic, just something your "character" can't be concerned about... try to think about all the things in your life; don't be limited as to the topic...
anyway, if you really can't figure it out and you're tired of being awake all the time, you can ask for a prescription for sleeping pills. but don't give up on reflecting upon the issues in your life. you'll eventually find it out because more often than not, insomnia is caused by emotional and/or psychological concerns.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

Warm bath or shower before bed helps. Soothing music or good book to read an hour or so before bedtime might help. And the warm milk thing helps too. Also lavender scent is helpful.
