Don't be afraid of a little constructive criticism. It helps us learn, grow and become better people. It would not be possibe to give the points to the answer and not the person because the answer came from a person. Answers do not materialize on their own.
Try thanking the person for helping you, so that you won't make the same mistake, twice.

No because the person that gave you the best answer clearly understood your question and didn't care about the mistake.

I think that if the person who corrected your question was of help you should have emailed them and thanked them, and given points to the person who gave you the best answer, as that is what the whole point of this is for, not "WHO CAN HELP ME WITH MY QUESTION", but "YAHOO ANSWERS".

It's up to you as the asker, but you do have the option of editing your question to make a nice comment thanking the person who helped. Or you could mention it in your remarks when you choose the best answer.

You can give your ten points to whomever you choose, however what you did was rude, to copy her answer and not thank her for her help was inexcusable. You owe her an apology, at the very least.
