I hve oily skin and even my eye lids get a bit oily. It seems I put on eye shadow and before long it's coming off. And when I put eyeliner on my upper lid, I always get it into the fold of my eyelid. I think that migh also be because of my oily skin. How can I prevent these things from happening and keep my eye make up looking fresh?

You should use an eyeshadow primer. I use Eyeshadow Primer Potion by Urban Decay. It keeps my shadow from creasing or coming off.

You can add eye shadow color to an eye cream. Sometimes oiliness is because skin is actually undermoisturized. Your pores work overtime to moisturize your skin in the form of oiliness. If you like to wear pinks on your eyelids, rouges (creamy cheek-blushes) wear well on eyelids, too. And remember it comes from the inside out, too. So drink enough water & eat fruits (like models do) Limit the amount of high sugary (soda pops) drinks/foods, & high fat stuff. Best Wishes to you!

Clinique sells a product for this problem. If you go to the Clinique counter at any department store and tell them your problem they will be able to give you this great base coat for your eyelid that helps keep your eye shadow on. I put that underneath my make up then dust the top of my lids with a finishing powder to lock it in....instead of finishing powder you can also use hair spray to seal your make up just becareful not to get it in your eyes.

I have the same problem. I put my foundation on my eyes, then translucent powder. I don't use any whipped or creamy foundation, just powder. For eyeliner, I lift up my upper eyelid and go from underneath to put it directly on my lashline. I use black eyeshadow by Maybelline for this and a little tiny eyeliner brush. It stays on all day and never goes in the creases.

Put on a concealer that is lighter than your skin tone. Then add a light powder to it and dust it off. Then apply a powder eye shadow. The more expensive shadow you use, usually the better since they have a more intensified pigmentation incorporated in them and will last the longest

dust your eyelids with translucent face powder first, then your powder and all will last a bit longer, but oily skin simply disolves make up after a while. also get thin rice paper sheets that come in a little packet like a match book, you just lay them on the surface of your make up and they absorb oil right through your make up, however its best to not wear any make up. but thats your choice.

Make sure you wash your eyelids as well as the rest of your face. Usually I don't concentrate on mine as much for fear I'll get soap in my eyes. Also, be sure that you use a brush or pad to apply it because your fingertips will melt it and add extra oil to your eyelids causing more of the effect you're trying to get rid of. So sorry I couldn't be of more help.

me shadow alwyas came off too and i dont have oily skin.it could just be the brand you use. try this...use a shader brush for your shadow...dip it in water before you put the powder on it.then apply it to your eyes.it works like a charm for me. the eye-liner... i think it happens to everyone, i still havent found a good way to prevent that one though.

i heard that putting powder on the eyelids first will absorb the oil and keep the makeup on longer.
