I soaked it in dishwasher soap and the sticky part remains and suggestions on how to remove the sticky part would be appreciated. I cannot submerge the entire thing in water.

Have you tried the "Mr Clean Magic Eraser"? It removes EVERYTHING. It's only about $2 at Walmart for a 2-pack. Great for scuff marks on the floor and cleaning a scummy sink too.

Good luck!

Acetone--better known as nail polish remover--removes most sticker residues. Since the dish detergent did not do it, probably needs the acetone. However, like you well know, try it on the plexiglass or fiberglass area that won't show first, to make sure it is not going to damage surface. Otherwise, alcohol does the trick. Usually the first thing I try besides just rubbing it away, is to try just mild Ivory soap, or liquid soap like Soft Soap or Dial soap liquid, and rub with wash cloth. The alcohol usually second, and then the acetone third. These are much less expensive than the Goo be Gone or whatever. Baking soda and white vinegar together clean anything-- with no scratches whatsoever.

Really hot water and a rag. Careful not to use something that will scratch the surface of the plexiglass. If it still won't budge or leaves the gluey residue try Goo Be Gone, it works by pouring some onto the spot letting it sit for a few minutes than wipes off clean, repeat or leave on longer if it's a really tough stain.

Go to the store & purchase some adhesive remover.
Read the bottle, most evaporate quickly & do NOT leave any residue. I usually find it in the office supply section , with the scotch tapes, etc

Careful what you do use though. If the product is not for this purpose, it can ruin the item....
Best to get an approved adhesive remover....

Try rubbing salad oil on it, (regular old oil you have in the fridge). If you don't have any, try olive oil or any other food type oil. Then you'll have to wash the oil off with dish soap, but that's easy to do.
