I graduated from college in 1998 and I did not get the job I wanted after graduation.
I had to learn about myself and the industry before I finally found the job that fits my needs.
This took alot of research but I must say I did interview with numerous companies before and after graduation.. This prepared me immensely for my career in Human Resources.
It is very competitive today and it does not matter if you have a degree. However experience weighs more than education because you must apply your knowledge you learned in school at work.

Well, I left college mid-Junior year to see if teaching was what I really wanted to do. I found out that it was not my favorite thing in the world. Later, I finished my bachelor's degree, then went on the earn a master's degree in counseling. That suited me much better.
We will have seven or more careers in our lifetime due to the ever-changing world of work. Many careers that will exist are not in existence now. "The times they are a-changing...."

I did, but that was in 1980.
The college I went to had a job fair. I filled out applications and got called for some interviews. It was well known that the company I got hired to got people from these job fairs.
Technically, they hired me before I graduated.
