I think that if you want to just go with gift cards, you could go to places like Forever 21, Macy's, Best Buy, or other stores like that.
If you want to get more personal, you could maybe give a gift card with a piece of jewelery, or, something perhaps more fun, is to go to a mall and let her buy what she wants. It's not only a very personal gift, but also a bonding experience! ^__^ Take it from a fellow 16 year old, you want to spend time with people who you don't see often, especially if it's someone like a relative.

Buy a $50 Series EE savings bond for college and spend the other $50 on a nice dinner in a "grown up" setting. Or spend the whole $100 on a dinner and a play. She will remember the night out longer than a toy will last.

Well what my grandmother does every year is just give me money, because more than a few times in the past she has giving me presents that cost kazillions and then I use them about 3 times, which makes me feel bad, but she just has no idea what I like. So if were you, I would just get her a cute christmas card and the $100 in cash, because there is no 16 year old that I know that would not appreciate $100 in cash.

Just give her a check for the 100. Believe me, she will love that more than anything you can give her because she can buy exactly what she needs and wants. Plus she could spend some and save some. Thats what my grandma does. I like it the best.

Giftcards for movie theaters, Starbucks, bookstores, Target or Wal-mart. Cash is fun, but, it can go fast and be spent on garbage. Giftcards insure fun, some practical stuff and a possible evening out!
