I don't want swingers, or diseases, I want adult people interested in commitment.

You seem to be talking about two different things. The original Swinger's started in the 1960's and usually involved a group of couples who were neighbors/work connected/belonged to a regular group such as a county club. The idea was that happily married couples could enjoy each others spouses openly. the original name was "Wife Swapping" What you seem interested in is a type of polygamy. I've often thought I would enjoy having a co-wife who could share the household work and my husband. The sex part could be worked out to suit the individual. I don't agree with these jerks that want to add a new younger wife every time he sees one he wants. Even Mohammad said a man cannot do justice to more than two wives.
I had some flower children friends (years ago) that jumped over a broom and declared themselves married every time they got the urge. They didn't usually last too long and resulted in a lot of STD's and babies with weird first names.
For it to work, you need to know the people you're jumping in bed with. That is if you are planning a relationship that exists out side the bedroom also. Be Very Careful!

Try looking up "polyamory". Polygamy is illegal, because you cannot legally be married to more than one person, but I know a lot of people who live their lives with more than one romantic partner. "Polyamory" means "many loves", and polyamorous people (at least, as far as I've heard) are interested in being in more than one romantic committed relationship. Swingers, on the other hand, are interested in having sex with lots of people, but don't necessarily want to be in romantic relationships with more than one person.

Yes, but less face it. Straight men, who do not have it as easy sexually as straight women, would arrive in hoards if they could without accompanying females. So although I agree that this policy is sexist at its root, it is more a matter of supply, demand, and the reality of the situation. So, unless those straight men are famous, powerful, or notoriously wealthy, such inequities will persist
