I built/am building a log home myself. The chinking is very important for both looks and to seal the gaps. I went to PERMA CHINK a log home manufacturer of sealants, stains, chinking, ect. The home office is in Redmond,Wa ( Seattle ) but has branches across the US & Canada. They put on classes in using, and istalling thier products. The saved me losts of money and heartbreak, just really helpful and experts on log homes.Check out thier web site.

If your going Au Natural you can use moss from a ceder swamp and mud or go to Home Depot and I'm sure you'll find something there to use.
