A hypothesis is what you think will happen or what you are trying to prove. There is no explanation of what you did in lab, but I am guessing that different people or groups of people did different things to the magnesium and the teacher wants you to see the different outcomes from the same substance in different situations.

a million. locate the type of moles for Mg and Cl which you have: 0.ninety six g Mg x (a million mol Mg/24 g Mg) = 0.04 mol Mg 2.80 4 g Cl x (a million mol Cl/35.5 g Cl) = 0.08 mol Cl 2. Now set up your formula like so: Mg 0.04 mol Cl 0.08 mol 3. seem for the backside quantity in moles of the two. Mg has the backside (0.04 in comparison to 0.08 mol of Cl). Divide the two #'s by potential of 0.04 mol Mg 0.04/0.04 = a million Cl 0.08/0.04 = 2 4. Now merely end writing the formula: Mg1Cl2 *it would somewhat merely be written MgCl2 (because a million mol is already assumed)
