Cause the world and its laws were created by men and FOR MEN. There's lots of ambition. People live their lives as if they were INMORTALS.
We don't follow the great teaching of JESUS.
Love UR brothers as you love yourself
Don't do unto others what U don't like others do to you.
and a few more.........

The world and Humankind cannot live in harmony because since their inceptions they have been in a continual state of "de-evolution" from a "Superior Condition" we once possessed but lost. Thus, the modus operandi for our current state is discord, not harmony. Harmony and a harmonious function are diametrically in opposition to the laws of the current disharmonious system that we exist within. Hence, “peace” will always be elusive, and “war” will always thrive.

Turnertel is right, it is a question of biology. But believe it or not, genetic biology shows that as a species we are becoming more civilized and more peaceful. In chimp society, and in pre-industrial hunter/gatherer societies studied before modern life became too intrusive, death of males by violence from other males (raids and skirmishes; in other words, small scale war) hovers at around 30%. In modern warfare, not even the Battle of Gettysburg had that high a casualty rate.

The actual causes are Religion and Politics. These two social evils are the root cause of all today's problems worldwide. In olden days, women and money were the reasons.

Abolish religions and there will be a lot of difference. Then purify politics and the result will be a peaceful world.

how can the world live in harmony when in many homes, siblings do not live in harmony, husbands and wives do not live in harmony, and parents and their children cannot even live in harmony!
It needs the effort of everybody - and it starts with all of us. We ask such questions, yet we do not examine ourselves (our relationships with people around us).
Be a nicer person to everyone around us from today, and hopefully, the world can become a better place.

Regardless of ideas and opinions we will always be seperated by customs, religions, and world geographies. When and if we can ever accept each other on those terms...we will all be happy campers. Not likely to happen soon, but keep your hopes up and do whatever you can do to contribute to the true harmony that we all desire............

This isn't as much of a philosophical question as it is a biological question. It's basic animal behavior. We've overcrowded this planet by a few billion people and when there are too many of one animal in any area, they fight. They fight for survival, for food, for room. It's the laws of nature, and until we become more than the animals we are, this kind of behavior will never end.
