THE PLACENTA IS JUST REACHING THE INTERNAL OS AND ALTHOUGH THE PLACENTAL POSITION WILL CHANGE AS THE UTERUS ENLARGES,REVIEW SCAN AT 32 WEEKS SHOULD BE PERFORMED TO CONFIRM PLACENTAL MIGRATRION.?????

It means that you have a low lying placenta. Placenta's usually move upward or migrate as the pregnancy progresses. They will do a follow up ultrasound to confirm that it has moved because if it has not they will have to do a c-section. This is also called placenta previa. Just so you know...... it is VERY common to have a low lying placenta at this stage in the pregnancy.

Im no doctor by any means but it could just be that your placenta is sitting "low" in your uterus. As your baby grows the placenta moves upwards and attaches itself to the upper wall where it is meant to go. The reason they probably didnt tell you this is because nothing can be done for it at this early stage. Usually it corrects itself.

If it doesnt then u may need a c section later on. Dont worry about it too much. If they thought this should be addressed now they would have told you. As long as you are going in for another ultrasound to check on it everything should be fine. Ask your ob/gyn if you have any fears.

Sweetie, if she said everything is fine, then it's fine. She's got no reason to lie to you.

It sounds like the placenta is susposed to slightly change position as the uterus enlarges, and they just want to do a follow up scan at 32 weeks to make sure it is moving into the correct positon. The internal os is the internal side of your cervix.

The best thing to do though, would be to ask your doctor at your next prenatal appointment.

Hope this helps!

The os is the mouth of your uterus, the cervix. This meant that your placenta is very close to this opening. Sometimes this happens early in pregnancy, and the placenta will move up as the uterus gets larger. If the placenta does not move up, it could cover the opening (cervix), which would be placenta previa. This could cause bleeding and the need for a c-section.

It probably means your placenta is lying low, but is expected to naturally move up as your uterus grows. Same thing happened in my PG and it moved up just fine. My doctor did a follow up to confirm, because if the placenta is covering your cervix it is dangerous to deliver naturally. It's really common and my Dr wasn't concerned at all.

usually at this early in the pregnancy the placenta implants itelf in fron tof the opening to the cervix. by the time you give birth it usually moves out of the way, sometimes it doesnt though and then youll have to have a c section, its pretty common and nothing to worry about unless its still in the way at your 32 week exam.. .. .. then theyll talk to you about scheduling an ultrasound

The truth is I think you need prayer. Lord, Give this mother a healthy baby and until it arrives give her the peace that passes understanding that used to be afforded to mothers before modern medicine began to show us all their little "parts".

God bless and keep her in his love and care until and through the delivery of a healthy baby.
