You do not need a permit to purchase the gun, only fill out a 4473 and pass the NCIC background check. To carry the gun on your person you will need a carry permit. For transporting the gun, if you don't have a permit, it needs to be locked up in your car and unloaded.

as long as you dont have a felony and are legal,you can buy a hand gun an walk alway in 10 minutes.im from texas,as far as right to carry you need to take it home or to the range,now im in pa i have a right to carry a fire arm at all times,get a permit tio carry ,in texas it takes paper work and a fire range,in pa its going to the sheriff,for a conseled gun,thats what i have

You do have to have a permit in order to carry the gun anywhere with you. If you're leaving it at home I think you're okay.

You have to be atleast 18
Take gun classes (shooting)
And have a gun permit
And some other things

YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT APPROVED FOR HAND GUNS ECT.
SHOTGUNS ARE NORMALLY APPROVED BY TELEPHONE.
