War is never won. The misunderstandings between cultures, escalating to the point of violence, is comparable to a natural disaster. They are not a source of glory or victory, just pain, suffering and ill will. The survivors of a war are bettered because of the experience, but only if they come to the realization of how futile the endeavor was. There is always a peaceful solution to end cultural disputes. These kind of conflicts are brought on by the failure to communicate, or the refusal to. When war is engaged in out of a last resort, it is tragic, because those that enter into such a struggle do not understand the circumstances they are in. They have failed to realize what the peaceful solution is to the conflict, and must then resort to violance. The terms win and lose have no validity in a conflict where both sides have admitted their wrongmindedness and ignorance by relying on violance. We must have a respect for anyone who comes out of war, alive or dead, because they have made a sacrifice. They put aside their moral doubts in order to invoke a pointless and futile struggle. Those who go to war change nothing they set out to, but come back changed themselves.

Being considered the "winner" in a war is in the eye of the beholder. Usually it means that the other side surrendered and agreed to terms if any. It may also mean that the other side was completely wiped out so there is no one to surrender. Another way of winning is capturing land or reasources that were sought after before the war began. But back to the question yes every war can be won by these three senerios. It may take a long time it may take lives but the most dertemined and wiser side wins the war. Wars are won before they begin.

Depends on what you mean by won. If you think the one who takes control is a winner then there is a winner. But if you think that peace through diplomacy is best instead of control through death then no, there is no war that can be won.

Yes, but only if the People support their Military. It appears that the there are Traitors and sell outs in Our Country. They vote to send our People to War to Defend their Country. A little while later, these same People get tired, nervous of a possible Victory for the Opposing Party, or they find it politically advantageous to use their Liberal Media and Press, to lie about and destroy the reputations of the Heroes of our Military. What the Liberals are doing Now, is exactly what they did to make us Lose the Vietnam War.

It depends on the politics of the war and the politicians.

Viet Nam the military never lost a major engagement, but was sacrificed due to politicians getting in the way of the military operations. Much the same way as what is now being done in Iraq. If you recall in the early conquest phase of the the Iraqi war, our military was permitted to do its job. Now it is to play patty cake and is restricted in operation. Probably more restricted then our own civil police in returning fire. Thus by restrictions we may be doomed.

The only way to win a war is to kill and break things till you beat the enemy into submission.

Guerrilla conflict is particularly effectual, and switching to that format does not characterize "giving up." Take it from somebody who's been to Iraq. two times. the undeniable fact that the enemy isn't following neat Orders of conflict does not lead them to any much less effectual. I additionally does not call what went down in Lebanon those days a victory. perhaps a draw.

In every war there is an aggressor, and the defender. Aggressor can not win because there is no wish strong enough to occupy somebody Else's country, as there is a wish in a defender to defend his own.
Answer to your question is that every war is lost. Loss of lives, loss of money. Who stays on their own soil is the winner and throughout the history that has been the case.
