Hello Harold Ford! Sometimes it is a matter of pride that a person 'flaunts' his or her racial background. Other times it's the media portraying stereo types and projecting a lot of 'hype'. There are so many diversified people in America that tend to cling to their origins by making a big issue on that point. In my opinion, anyone who was born in America is an American. Simply American.

I doubt very seriously if Harold wants any thing at all on this site. We the resources he has at his beck and call he already know the answer to your question.
Their are a number of reasons race is an important issue in our country. But I am only going to discuss one that flies below the radar. Our governments......Fed, state, local......go way out of their way to make race an issue. You can not apply for anything at any level without giving your race. That should not be. No one should have to say anything about their race or their income for that matter. The government has really made race an issue that it might not be otherwise.

I think Harold Ford already knows the answer. America was founded on race matters. They call this a melting pot; however, the stuff in the pot does not melt. First came the Black Slaves, the only group that did not come willingly, then Irish, then Italians, Then Chinese and everybody else. Everybody clings to his/her heritage. We are not Americans but a bunch of races who live on one soil.

of direction there will be ramifications. i've got faith that the strides made in u . s . of america for racial team spirit have been huge, regardless of the shown fact that, we nonetheless stay in a racist society. that's obvious on many ranges and areas of our existence. I even have faith that the contributors do the county a great disservice by potential of even engaging in a racially/money motivated scores scheme. The motivator right it somewhat is money. In all honesty, I ought to ask myself if i might succumb to the potential of the all robust greenback. the proper answer i'm able to arise with is; Its no longer in my face so i'm able to't supply an truthful answer. i'm a working stiff and that i'm able to't say with any actual conviction what i might do. At proper, i'm able to easily say How lots am I prepared to decline to. i might desire to have faith that i might do the desirable element and not supply-in to the exploitation by potential of the manufacturers and say no to any quantity. somewhat, i'm a realist and the dimensions of the pot concerns immensely. on the subject of ramifications, i think of they are going to be diffused on some fronts and a lots uglier reaction in different areas. i think of that this could be a poorly thought out scores ploy, to which the geniuses that got here up with it are actually not arranged to handle it. the proper case state of affairs would be a huge scale rouse, the place the branch isn't the variety of separation expected by potential of the prevalent public. I merely desire that cooler heads would be triumphant on the water cooler conferences that are specific to maintain on with.

Wish there were a well defined answer. All people seem to have a prejudiced streak. Blacks, whites,Hispanics,Chinese Japanese,Koreans, and on and on. If they aren't from the same race they have something bad to say about another. I guess they all think their race is Superior. Some day they'll be surprised.

because people sense that affirmative action is reverse discrimination? also they use race as a divider and a way to qualify for entitliments? In this highly competive time any way to get an edge is used by people of all racial lines. also ignorant people use the race issue when they cant think of anything else to press their argument? sort of like swear words? show a lack of intelligent language?
