Do a comparison on all the major online travel sites. For example, I usually compare Orbitz, Travelocity, and Expedia. Then I try places like Priceline, lowfares.com, hotels.com, etc.
You then have to balance your travel dates, places, class of hotel, etc to get the best overall price for what you want.
Sometimes I end up getting a flight from one, and the hotel from another.

In general
www.pricegrabber.com gives you cheap rates.
Also try www.expedia.com
