no one knows who you are so you don't get a bias answer.
you can ask any thing
and maybe the people you live around don't know any thing about your situation and there might be a person out here that knows what your going through.
I like to read what other people think and see how different we are or how similar we are.
all in all
we all have nothing better to do, so why not.

I enjoy answering more than asking. The few questions I have asked have been for a broad range of responses from different walks of life and where else can you find that?

I don't really think most people heed the advice I give but it is nice to think that I have maybe helped someone a little bit. If they didn't ask, how could I have the pleasure of answering.

I will give you this much, there are some weird questions out there and I have to read through 100 or more to find one that I feel is actually seeking information that a community like this can provide. ("How do I get my bf to love me" does not count as one actually seeking an answer.)

Also, on a forum such as this you have a place to ask questions you might not feel comfortable with in a face-to-face situation. Or you can ask questions you would never in a 1000 years ask your family or friends.

It's a fast way to get a variety of opinions. And people can share their own personal experience, that a friend or family member is not willing to share or are not experienced in the problem you may have.

By asking a question on Yahoo you can have anonynimity as well as objective points of view. You can have people give advice from their experience. It reminds me of group therapy - the reason it works is because the people don't know each other.

sometime it is better to talk to complete strangers because you don't have to keep talking about it with family and friends here you ask a question get your answer and drop it.

Because strangers are less judgmental since they dont know you. Then its nice to get another persons perspective without revealing too much about your identity and knowing that you dont have to see these people everyday.. So its cool...

because they are neutral, they are on no ones side the facts come up and a person, removed from the situation that can be objective answers
They don't know you so there is no sugar coating it, more chance of getting the truth than from someone that doesn't want to hurt you feelings.

I would have to say because of all the different opinions that people have ..
And that they don't know you and you don't know them i guess it would be easier to take the critical comments they say..
