Yes, several factors can cause your period to be delayed, including a strenuous exercise regimen (over-exercise). Other factors related to excercise includes: metabolic, malnutrition, and emotional distress i.e. unhappy love afair, divorce, and so on.

Keep in mind, however, your period does not have to come the same day, same time, every month. A 1 - 5 day variance can be prefectly O.K.

If you believe that running or exercising may be the cause of the change in you cycle, you should discontinue your exercise(s) and discuss with your doctor a more sutible exercise regimen. You may also visit a local gym a speak with a fitness instructor about a exercise that is right fo you.

Hope this answers your question!

emotions and stress can affect your menstrual cycle. runners usually feel empty inside when they don't do their routine run... same goes for all the athletes and other people who have a lot of routines.... stress can also delay or make your period earlier. ever had a big fight with your guy and ended up menstruating?? it just happens at times...

I think so. Excercise and weight loss can cause you to miss your period, or skip it. But talk to your doctor.
