There are always leaders and followers. Even as small children it comes into play. so, that is how it is and always will be. It's easier for some people to let others think, then they don't have to. Who knows why? Why does the world go round?

I believe that others are smarter than I am and know more than I do and I let them influence me. But lately I don't do that anymore only because I have my own brain and my own ideas and if I stumble and fall, I will pick myself up, brush myself off and try again.

Are you so sure they do? Maybe you are thinking about one specific person who does not think for his or herself. Most reasonably intelligent people listen to what others have to say and then make up their own minds. If it seems they believe as someone else does, maybe those ideas just made sense to them.
