To get a best agent, you have got to begin small. Start with nearby categories and productions. Teachers at your drama tuition will coach you the whole lot within the industry and can provide you critique. Then if you are well ample and you've got ample credit, you get an agent. If you might have an distinct agreement, you'll best have that agent, if it is non distinct, you'll have a couple of ones. Keep nailing auditions you pass on and one day you would make it to the highest, despite the fact that it is very not likely. Also, if you are doing this for cash, you are going to be very disillusioned. In the opening, it is all going to be volunteer paintings. If some thing, you can be in debt from the entire categories you've got taken, head shot snapshot shoots, possibly relocating to an additional marketplace, and many others. Nevertheless, well success in some thing profession you prefer.

I'm in England, and there is a publication called CONTACTS that lists all agents, casting directors, producor's so you can get all the details from there. BUT an agent will only take you on once they have seen your work. Get a showcase, or a good part in a fringe production [ you can do these yourself] and then write as many letters as possible, hope they come, and hope they like you enough to take you on. Unless you have a very impressive CV an agent is very unlikely to take you on without seeing your work, good luck X

Contact your regional SAG (Screen Actor's Guild) office. They should have a list of reputable agents. Remember...you never pay someone to represent you. They take a standard 10-15% commission (depending on if it's print or film/video).

In NYC, when we perform, we invite agents to our production. If interested, the agent calls the actor for an interview in his office. NYC actors mail "photo-postcards" to agents to let them know they are performing and comps are availabe, to the agent/assistant. Find out the procedure in the city where you live, on the procedure to inform agents about your erformances. Legitimate Talent Agents, CANNOT advertise, nor can they ask for money. SAG franchised Talent Agents are paid on commission. Agents deduct it from the check the actor receives for his booking. An agent can't help you unless you have a strong acting resume.
