I'm looking for the source of a quote. If I remember it correctly, it goes something like:

"God makes us fall in love with all the wrong people first, so that when we finally do meet the right one, we've had enough practice to be able to get everything right."

I'd like to know the exact quote, and also who said it. Thanks.

(Yes, I've aready tried Google, to no avail.)

If I am not mistaken, the quote is like this:
' God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one. So that when we finally do meet the right person. We will know how to be greatful for the gift of love we find in each other.'

I am sorry I don't know who said it.

perhaps George Bernard Shaw, or actually more likely Marianne Williamson, "A Return to Love" and other productions by her based on "A Course in Miracles" They often attribute things to "God" which true believers know is not really of "God".
Don't blame God and don't blame all believers for buying into this man-made stuff thats not in the bible at all.

huh? real? I don't think God will do that, you can't dictate the heart what to do and the mind as well, we do have the free will
we don't need to practice. we pray for our feelings if he's/she's the one and get to know the person then if not its not good to continue the relationship. its not like learning how to dance or sing "practice makes it perfect" kind of thing you don't fool around with the matter of love and commitment.

Why do you want to know who said this. Its not a very accurate position of what God would do. It sounds half baked to me. How come our Grandparents stayed together, and usually they were the one and only love for each other. People blame God for their bad choices. So I wouldn't even look for this quote. Its foolhardy.

God wants us to learn to love all people, because it's good to have company. Being the only God, he should know.

The truth is that we must learn to see God in all people, even the bad (wrong) ones.

Wow, ok. I don't remember God saying that in the Bible and that is the only place I go to quote God's word.
