I just this morning took a first response test and it came back positive! I know that having a false positive is extremely rare. I was going to wait until beginning of next month to go to the doctor and get an official test. Is that too long for me to wait? Or is it alright to go sooner like within the next week?

First off Congrats!!!! When it comes to going to the doctor the sooner the better, but if there is a reason you need to wait til the begining of the month make sure you go to the store and get some prenatal vitamins and start those right away, and take any precautions you can to keep healthy until your first visit. Yes it is alright to go within the week if a home pregnancy test came back positive the blood tests will for sure be able to tell.

Congrats again and Good Luck!!!

The sooner the better, but if you need to wait then that is ok too. Just make sure you go to the store and buy some prenatal vitamins and start taking those. You will be fine until you can make it to the doctor. I was 7 weeks (with my 4th baby) when I called the doctor. I was going to wait longer, but I was so sick with morning sickness I had to go sooner to get something for it. Good Luck and congrats!

It's okay to take another test sooner, and be sure no matter the result to see the doc just in case. The doc can tell with blood test within a few days of implantaion, so all you gotta do is wait a few days for the test results from the doc. I say Congrats!!!

You have had a positive hometest the best thing would be to get to the Dr. for a test and to start prenatal care asap...

Prenatal care is very important and each week counts for alot.. The sooner you begin prenatal care the better, get an appointment as soon as you can...

I took the home test the day I was late and went to the two days later...that was 2 years ago, now I have two year old twins. We had lots problems with the pregancy and finding out so early saved their life and allowed them to born healthy (although premature and after a 9 week hosptial stay for me plus an additional 6 weeks for them). Yes I know our case was rare, but why risk it?

I would go within the next week if I was you. The first pre-natal visit is usually at 8 weeks. If you have a + test than you are at least 4 weeks already, possibly more. Early pre-natal care is important so they can rule out complications and get you on a pre-natal vitamin. Besides....your life has just completly changed....aren't you anxious to verify it! ;)
