It's only hot and muggy in the summer around winter rain means cooler weather though still no snow.

Not always hot, but usually, since the summer IS the rainy season, and it sure is hot, especially in the southern part of the state. It does rain in the winter, but much less often, and it can be pretty chilly in the winter. As for muggy, well rain does mean 100% humidity, so muggy= humidity, so yes!
The beach can be very relaxing, unless you have to fight to find a parking spot, and then your blood pressure can go thru the roof!
I live in a very crowded area just north of Ft Lauderdale, with lots of snowbirds in the winter, and it can be impossible to park at the beach on weekends, so you need to go early, or late.

I've lived in Miami for about 5 years and I can honestly say it's rather cool in the summers and even when it's 80 degrees the sea breeze always brings the temp. down. As for the rain it's never hot or muggy, but I guess it could get muggy in northern Florida.

I lived in Miami and around Miami for 8&1/2 years and I miss it! I was told how hot and muggy it was but I didn't think so! I love the weather down there. If you like summer then you'll love Miami.

Oh Yes! It's soo hot, you can have a bad burn at the beach so you always have to be careful and wear sun-screen. The beaches are ok, nothing special. Living in South Florida is boring. There's nothing to do here. I'm moving to Houston from Miami and am so glad because Miami sucks so much. So don't come here. If you want a good vacation. Go to Bahamas! Heard it's gorgeous there.
