My wife and I have the same features; 2 eyes, 1 nose and1 mouth, each. Oh yeah, and a couple of ears.

I actually read on article about this a couple of weeks ago. People are naturally attracted to features that make them feel safe and comfortable- this is often going to be features similar to themselves because those are the features they have a lifelong familiarity with

Yes I believe that it is, similar to peoples choices in pets, cars etc. The feeling of comfort they subconsciously register, makes a certain look or characteristic seem more appealing. Looks are a relative thing in any case.
Cultural standards can cause people of nearly opposite features to be of equal beauty.
Even within one particular culture our definition of beauty is obscure.
All this aside, I believe that we subconsciously set aside those of similar characteristics.

Yes! I've noticed that for awhile. I think naturally people are drawn to people who look like themselves, whether in relationships or just friends.

well, i have never resembled my male companions...but i have seen people look so similar to one another...i think that's why the children in some families look so close to each other in facial features...

I think they sometimes do, but that more often people will change as they have the same experiences and environment as each other.

When married, you become one with your partner and so as time goes on it makes sense that you grow more alike.
