I'm planning to paint a portraint of Leonardo Da Vinci using a certain theme. I'm actually going after Guissippe Archemboldo's (mind the spelling, please) notion of painting using themes.... such as, making a face only out of fruits, or nature, or books! So I am planning to paint 3/4 view of Leonardo's face mainly using human organs, such as hearts for his cheeks, large/small intestines for his beard, appendix for his eyeborws, etc... because he was actually an anatomist himself, so I thought it would be a great theme to draw him out of human organs... something along that line. What do you guys think of this idea...? I appreciate your opinions.

My plan is to draw him out first then place the organs in place to make it resemble him.

Cool - great idea! I think he would probably have appreciated it himself. He was such a polymath that you could choose from many different themes.

It woldnt' look much like him, unless you cut out the shapes.
You could also try a negative color image, or abstract colors.
