A legally binding contract between you and her stating simply that you both keep what's yours. IE: Your wealthy, she signs a prenup agreeing that she has no grounds to try to get more than she entered the marriage with should you divorce. See your favorite hard ball attorney for help.

A Pre-Nuptial Agreement is simply a legal contract drawn up
between a man & woman before they get married..
It usually deals with responsibilities during the marriage and
division of property should there be a divorce..
You can draw one up yourself in some states, such as Texas,
and in other states you should get a lawyer to draw it up for you.

An agreement made between you and your future bride BEFORE you are married. If you are to be married (gag!) I beg you to see a lawyer and do this. People will say that this is nothing more than planning for your divorce. Bottom line, it's planning for your survival! The hard truth is most marriages end up broken, bitter and hate-filled. Did you know that a judge will award your ex half of your 401K even though she never contributed one cent? He can also award her the farm that has been in your family for two hundred years with the stroke of a pen. Did you know that your wife can cheat, lie and steal from you and still end up with everything you own? You want to roll the dice then be my guest. If your gal sticks out her lip and cries that you love your assets more than you love her then bolt! Run away as fast as you can, dude. You have EVERY right to insure your future legally and if she can't handle it then to hell with her. Even marriages made in heaven can go straight to hell.

It's raly a way of either man or woman having alot of assets going into a marriage and they're sure the marriage won't work, so they save their loss of assets and make the soon to be sign on the dotted line.
An attorney can write the prnup up for you.

a prenup is drawn up by a lawyer before you get married to protect what you have or what she has and to keep it as separate property ... usually only the rich do this to protect themselves from people looking to cash in on their fortune ... or if you own a lot of land.
you need to have a lawyer draw one up BEFORE you get married
